La temporada de premios viene fuerte pues este próximo 13 de marzo se llevarán a cabo los Critics Choice Awards 2022, en años pasados esta ceremonia se realizaba por las primeras semanas de enero pero este año se recorrió la fecha a marzo, volviéndola la predecesora de los premios Óscar, los cuales serán presentados este próximo 27 de marzo.
Los Critics Choice Awards presentan casi las mismas categorías en cuanto a cine que los premios de la Academia, sólo con la gran diferencia de que en esta ceremonia también habrá premios a lo mejor de la televisión. Además de que para esta ceremonia los encargados de premiar a lo mejor de cine y televisión son más de 400 críticos de cine, tele, radios y medios digitales.
Cabe destacar que este año las plataformas de streaming han traído proyectos grandes que les han valido al menos una nominación en esta premiación, anteriormente la disputa de premios era entre la cadena de televisión HBO (la cual ahora igual cuenta con su propia plataforma HBO Max) y Netflix, la que hasta el día de hoy sigue siendo la líder en cuanto servicios de streaming se trata. Sin embargo, plataformas como Paramount+, Apple Tv, o Hulu han llamado la atención de los críticos para tomar en cuenta sus proyectos.
